Sophie Foster - Learning Designer
Designing creative teaching and learning experiences for collaboration, exchange and experimentation
After completing a bachelor’s degree in Literature and Art at Newcastle University in the UK, Sophie Foster worked as a contemporary artist and art educator in the field of lifelong learning. In 2016, she was accepted for the master’s program “Public Art and New Artistic Strategies” under Prof. Danica Dakić at Bauhaus Universität, Weimar. From there, she has exhibited throughout Europe and her work evolved into socially engaged practices, designing creative teaching and learning experiences for collaboration, exchange and experimentation. She has also lectured at various universities across the UK and Germany, designing and implementing courses for academic skills. She is currently working on the project Lernraum.Bauhaus as a Media Didactics Assistant, part of Institutional Development at Bauhaus Universität, Weimar. Here, she supports the prototyping of virtual learning spaces for the Hybrides.Lernatelier and the sub-project Lernen am Objekt which focuses on the examination of objects in physical and digital learning settings.
